FASHION EVOLUTION IN MOI UNIVERSITY

Moi University students have a fashion transformation from their first year of study to their last years. If you are doubting this, compare how first years dress to how third and fourth years do. As well, you can think of the clothes you carried while you were getting admitted to campus and the ones you own(ed) three years later. Do you still put the ones you got admitted with on? Leave alone putting them on, do you still have them in your closets? I guess most of us disposed theirs or gave them out to their siblings as they replaced them.

I remember carrying top dresses, leg stalkings, scarfs and blazers for my first time admission in Moi University. Well, that was then but today,  I wouldn't put on any of them. Not even if all my clothes were dirty. Everyone got a different description of clothing for his/her admission but what triggered the change in fashion?

It is evident that as they stay continues, most students have a uniform way of dressing. It may not be exactly the same but the similarity can be witnessed. For instance, first years have a sense of decency but unattractive way of dressing; most of them dress like people going for Church services in a village while second years are kind of indecent. This is seen on the half body covering clothes that they put on. Most of them put on rugged trousers and shorts, crop tops and shirt dresses. Third years on the other hand have a taste in casual but descent attires. You will get them in ankara  designs, bowties and jeans, denim e.t.c . Fourth years being the elders are mostly seen on official attires.

This kind of dressing transformation is usually symbolic : First years' is always for the innocence, second years'  is for 'growth' , third's for a confusion between maturity and evolution while fourth's  for maturity and readiness to be absorbed in their respective fields of work.
